FEBRUARY 2010 NEWS LETTER
Dear Parents and Friends,
Welcome to February. We have a busy month ahead of us and the staff and I would like to share some of it with you. Please make note of all the activities so you won’t be left out of things!
CALENDAR:
Feb. 10th - Valentine’s Day Party 10:30
Feb. 15th - President’s day {school closed}
HEY! LET’S PARTY . . .
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, we will have a party on Wednesday, Feb. 10th, from 10:30 -12:00 Noon.
All children are invited to participate. We ask each child to bring 35 valentines with
His/her name signed on each card. Please do not address the envelopes. If you would like to provide a treat please let us know. This will be a cookie and punch party.
Besides our Valentine’s Day Party, we will also be studying about Chinese New Year and U.S. history in conjunction with President Day, Lincoln’s Birthday, and Washington’s Birthday.
FEBRUARY CURRICULUM;
During this month, the children will be starting a new unit in cultural studies’ Zoology. They will begin their studies with the concepts of Vertebrates and Invertebrates, Living and non-Living, classified pictures such as parts of the Fish, Birds, and Mammals. Several work sheets will relate to this theme, also.
SHARING:
Please encourage your child to plan for one special item to bring from home: books, tapes, a science or educational item, etc. are great sharing items. Thanks!

Please remind your child of the sound of the letter, rather than the name of the letter.
